Fall from Grace is a first person VR experience in which you play as an AI computer virus caught between its purpose of sabotaging the creation of a life saving vaccine in a pandemic infested, overpopulated world and the suffering that it may cause millions of innocent people.
The game is an exploration of consciousness and ethics, bringing abstract concepts like “the trolley problem” to life while also taking participants on an emotional, story-driven journey. Fall From Grace also draws inspiration from The Last Guardian by providing the player with a companion character who acts as both as a protector and friend.
On this USC IMGD MFA thesis project, I am serving as game and lead level designer. In this role, I have contributed to the game from the start of the ideation process, helping the director shape the narrative he’s trying to tell, settle on the list of mechanics that would best serve that narrative, as well as paper prototype level layouts and set player experience goals.
